Build It Anyway: A Love Letter To Surrender and The Feminine Way
Sometimes a film finds you right when you need it.
For me, it was Under the Tuscan Sun. I watched it one quiet evening - popcorn in one hand, dark chocolate in the other - and suddenly I was watching my own journey reflected back in sunlight, heartbreak, and olive trees.
This space - this blog - I would like to become a place for the things I see and feel daily: the small moments, films, books, and lessons that whisper about the feminine way of living.
And this film reminded me of something I’d forgotten…
There’s a line that hit me like a wave:
“You’re the stupidest woman in the world. You bought a house for a life you don’t have.”
And I thought — yes.
I’ve built, invested, and created for a life that hasn’t fully arrived yet.
Maybe you have, too.
We build because something in us knows that someday, the train of life will catch up to us -
that the water of life will flow again.
Watching this film, I saw the Feminine Way of Rebuilding so clearly:
not through control or perfection, but through beauty, trust, and quiet devotion.
The main character doesn’t plan her way back to herself, she moves her way back.
And life moves with her.
She paints, plants, hosts, cooks, loves, and weeps.
She builds a home before she feels “ready,” and the home becomes the container for her becoming.
There’s a lesson there:
sometimes the structure must come before the certainty.
Sometimes beauty itself is the medicine.
🌻 What I’m Remembering This Week
To live spherically,
in many directions at once.
Not just forward, but inward, sideways, around the heart.
To build it anyway;
even when I don’t know who I’ll be when it’s finished.
To let sadness have an outlet,
and let sensuality bring me back to life.
To surrender,
because when I stop pushing,
the “water of life” starts to flow again.
Maybe this is your reminder, too:
you don’t have to wait for clarity or proof to begin again.
You just have to honor the impulse that whispers - it’s time.
Because when you build it in love, the rest will find you.
